VMC Group SR Seismic Restraints are passive devices designed to restrain power generation equipment during a seismic event. Our snubber design incorporates thick elastomeric bearing surfaces designed to decelerate the seismic force input to the equipment while also restraining the equipment to the building structure. Designed to work in conjunction with either spring or elastomeric vibration isolators, the SR Series maintains 1 1/4" air gap in all directions between the steel housing and the elastomeric element in order to avoid short-circuiting of the isolator. The steel base and top plates incorporate two properly spaced and sized anchor bolt holes. The housing can also be welded to the power generation equipment and supporting structure if required. These snubbers provide a minimum of 1 g restraint capability in all directions.
